SRH vs BLR Dream11 Prediction: Will eternal under-achievers of IPL Royal Challengers Bangalore finally become destiny’s child this year? Or will Sunrisers Hyderabad prove that the spark of 2016 wasn’t once in a blue moon? One of these two questions will end up as a ‘No’ today when Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Royal Challengers Bangalore to stay in the contention for the title. This match will be played at Abu Dhabi. We will preview SRH vs BLR Dream11 contest.
Sunrisers Hyderabad brought their A-game to the table when they met Mumbai Indians in a do-or-die encounter in the last league match at Sharjah. Bowling first, Sandeep Sharma began brilliantly for them with picking up both the openers relatively cheaply. He got able support from Jason Holder and Shahbaz Nadeem as both scalped a couple each to restrict Mumbai Indians to just 149 runs from their 20 overs. Sandeep Sharma was the most successful bowler with 3 wickets to his name. In reply, it was one way traffic as SRH openers inflicted one of the heaviest defeats to MI. David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha were in full colours against a bowling lineup without their main contributors – Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah. SRH chased down the total in just 17.1 overs to book their play-off berth.
Royal Challengers Bangalore had a lot of thinking to do after their last league match against Delhi Capitals. Batting first, Josh Philippe was dismissed early before Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli stitched a partnership. But scoring rate was again an issue for RCB in the middle overs as Delhi bowlers chipped away with overs. Devdutt Padikkal made a half-century while AB de Villiers brought his long-handle out in last couple of overs but still the score of 152 was below par on that pitch. It was evident when DC batsmen started their run-chase. RCB received a blow when their strike-bowler Chris Morris got injured. Shahbaz Ahmed, Mohammed Siraj and Washington Sundar were among the wickets but DC were always cruising as they got over the line with an over to spare.
In head-to-head comparisons, Sunrisers Hyderabad are slightly ahead of Royal Challengers Bangalore in historical data. SRH have won 9 matches while RCB prevailed on 7 occasions in 16 matches played between these two sides. In last 5 matches, RCB are leading by 3-2 over SRH. Both the teams have a match each in this year’s encounters in the league stages.
Pitch and Conditions
Playing conditions have been excellent throughout the IPL with pitches offering something to work with to almost everyone. Scores have gone down at Abu Dhabi in the second half of the season but still stroke-play hasn’t been impossible. Batsmen will get rewards if they dig-in during the powerplay overs. We have seen some significant movement with the new ball at this venue compared to other two. With dew expected in the second innings, teams will look to chase down a score today.
