With the evolution of T20 cricket, fielding has become one of the most important department of the game. Each run and boundary saved, counts a large value at the end of every T20 game. And rightly so, the department has seen a sudden improvement in the last few years. But despite all these, some old players are still finding it difficult to cope up to the new fielding standards. In the recently concluded match between CSK and DC, Amit Mishra produced one of the worst fielding efforts ever seen in the IPL history as he just jogged while chasing the ball to the boundary.

Mishra produces one of the worst fielding efforts

The incident happened in the 2nd ball of the thirteenth over. It was a free hit ball. Stoinis bowled a slow ball, which got deflected off the guts of batsman Ambati Rayudu. Initially he tried to pull the ball, but was quite early on to the shot. But luckily for him, it went towards the long-stop fence for four leg byes. The ball could’ve been stopped before it reached the boundary. But a lazy fielding effort from senior statesmen Amit Mishra meant that CSK got a free leg-bye four. He stopped the chase mid-way and casually jogged while chasing the ball. This is not the first time that Mishra has been seen lazy on the field.

DC registers a thumping win over CSK

Chasing a above par score of 189 set by CSK, the Delhi Capitals got off to a flying start courtesy of fine opening partnership from both Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan. Both scored 72 and 85 runs respectively and thereby helped DC to have an early edge over the 2-time champions.

For CSK, the veteran Suresh Raina starred with the bat as he scored a well made 54 runs before getting run out. He was well supported by Moeen Ali and Sam Curran, who scored 36 and 34 runs respectively.
