Mr and Mrs Mahi MOVIE: The meeting of cricket and Bollywood is the most interesting and exciting combination as witnessed over the years in the entertainment world. Until now, there have been a number of hit Bollywood movies made based on the biopics of many cricketers namely MS Dhoni – The Untold Story, 83, Azhar and many more. The recent announcement of the film, Mr and Mrs Mahi, has set the internet on fire.

What is Mr and Mrs Mahi based on?

Legendary Director and filmmaker Karan Johar recently announced his new Bollywood film titled as Mr and Mrs Mahi and the millions of cricket fans will be delighted to hear that the movie is based on the real life of former India captain MS Dhoni. The Dharma Productions Bollywood movie features actor Rajkumar Rao and actress Janhvi Kapoor. Karan Johar’s production company, Dharma Productions, have announced this Bollywood flick which will show the real life story of MS Dhoni and his wife Sakshi Dhoni.

This is the second Bollywood movie based on the life of India’s two-time World Cup winning captain after the Sushant Rajput-starrer MS Dhoni – The Untold Story that released in 2016.

MS Dhoni Movie Release Date

Mr and Mrs Mahi being directed by director Sharan Sharma will hit the theatres on 7 October, 2022. In the movie based on a real life story, famous actor Rajkumar Rao will be seen playing the role of MS Dhoni while actress Janhvi Kapoor will be featuring as Sakshi Dhoni, however, Dhoni’s wife’s character is named as Mahima. This is the second appearance for the couple in a Bollywood film after Roohi.

On Wednesday (26 January), actress Janhvi Kapoor shared some exciting photos from the sets of Mr and Mrs Mahi film. Janhvi can be seen playing cricket with India’s senior wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik and was also spending some time with cricketers Abhishek Nayar, Vikrant Yeligati and others while enjoying a bonfire and breakfast.
