Most Hundreds in ODI: The third ODI between Bangladesh and India has seen many records being created and broken. One such among them has been the record for Most Hundreds in ODI. Indian batter Virat Kohli surpassed Ricky Ponting to become then second leading century in ODIs.

Most Hundreds in ODI: Virat Kohli scores his 44th ODI ton in the third ODI against Bangladesh 

Indian batter Virat Kohli ended his century drought in ODIs after August 2019. It was a sensational innings by him as returned to form and crafted his innings in staggering way to pave his way through the 44th ton in ODIs.

Kohli came to bat when India suffered early blow in Shikhar Dhawan and after struggling initially he found his mojo and played , he looked beautiful to the eyes as he played gorgeous drives all over the park and oozed out his class.

After playing a second fiddle to Ishan Kishan, Kohli looked completely different and carved his way into his his 72nd international ton. He achieved the feat with a six and put his team in a comfortable position.

With this century, he surpassed Ricky Ponting to score the most centuries in international as well as ODI cricket. He’s only behind great Sachin Tendulkar in terms of centuries and it’s a no-brainer that he can surpass batting great as well as he continues playing with same intensity.

Kohli ended with a score of 113 runs in 91 balls and helped his side post a total of 400 runs. He smashed 11 fours and 2 sixes in his innings and batted with a strike rate of 124.18.

Former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting is fourth on the list 30 hundreds to his name whereas Rohit Sharma and S Jayasuriya are fourth and fifth on the list with 29 and 28 tons respectively to their name.
