Dilshan Madushanka IND vs SL: The big breaking news from the Sri Lanka camp is that their premier left-arm pace bowler Dilshan Madushanka has been ruled out from the second ODI match against India scheduled to be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on 12 January, 2023. Things did not panned out really well for the visiting Sri Lanka team recently as they suffered a disappointing 69-run loss at the hands of India in the first ODI encounter. Sri Lankan bowlers conceded a massive first innings total of 373 for 7 in Guwahati which eventually proved to be too much during the chase.
During the India vs Sri Lanka first ODI on Tuesday, Dilshan Madushanka dislocated his right shoulder while fielding in the outfield. While making his ODI debut for Sri Lanka, the left-arm fast bowler picked up Indian captain Rohit Sharma as his maiden wicket and was able to bowl just 6 overs before getting injured. Ahead of the second ODI on Thursday, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) posted on Twitter that Madushanka is yet to recover from the injury and he will not be available for selection. Sri Lanka have the option of Lahiru Kumara and Pramod Madushan as the other pace bowling options in the ODI squad.
“Dilshan Madushanka will not be available for selection for the 2nd ODI, as he is still recovering from the injury he sustained during the 1st ODI,” Sri Lanka Cricket posted on Twitter.
