India is all set to take on New Zealand in the three-match ODI series. The series between the teams will kick start from 18th January in Hyderabad whereas the second and third games will be played on the 21st and 24th January in Raipur and Indore respectively.

Shreyas Iyer Out of India vs New Zealand ODI Series?

The series between India and New Zealand is just a one day away from now. However, ahead of the game, the hosts have suffered a blow as batter Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the series.

The batter suffered a back injury while training ahead of the first game and was deemed unfit to play. The middle-order batter will not travel to NCA for the recovery and is expected to back by the Test series against Australia.

In his place, the governing body has named Rajat Patidar as the replacement. The batter will soon be joining the the team as he’s currently playing the Ranji Trophy.

Releasing the official statement, BCCI said: “Team India batter Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the upcoming 3-match ODI series against New Zealand due to a back injury. He will be heading to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for further assessment and management. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Rajat Patidar as replacement for Shreyas Iyer.”
