Yuzvendra Chahal IND vs NZ: The Indian cricket team has decided to not play their premier leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal in the second ODI against New Zealand, being played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. India went on to register an incredible 12-run win against New Zealand in the first ODI game on Wednesday to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. The Men in Blue will be aiming to seal the series in their favour by winning the second game as well.
India’s chinaman Kuldeep Yadav got an important opportunity in the India playing XI after Chahal was not available for selection in the second ODI against Sri Lanka due to a sore right shoulder. However, the left-arm leg spinner has been a consistent wicket-taker for the Men in Blue during the last few games. Kuldeep ended up delivering a sensational Man of the Match performance where he registered impressive figures of 3 for 51 from his quota of 10 overs and he also bowled very well in the third and final ODI against the Lankan side. During the first ODI against New Zealand, he scalped two crucial wickets of Henry Nicholls and Daryl Mitchell in the middle-overs. This also means that Yuzvendra Chahal will now have to wait for his opportunity to make a comeback in the playing 11.
