South Africa registered a historic win in the 2nd T20I to level the 3-match T20I series 1-1. The second T20I at SuperSport Park in Centurion saw both teams setting numerous records, but ultimately, the home side prevailed by six wickets.
The match witnessed an outstanding performance from Johnson Charles of the West Indies, who scored a 39-ball century. He smashed ten fours and seven sixes, propelling his team to a mammoth total of 258, the second-highest T20I score ever.
Despite the massive target, South Africa started their innings with aggression with Quinton de Kock leading the charge. He scored a scintillating century off just 44 balls, the fastest ever by a South African batsman in T20Is. De Kock’s innings included 5 fours and 12 sixes.
Reeza Hendricks provided valuable support to de Kock, scoring 68 runs off just 28 deliveries. The Proteas chased down the target with seven balls to spare.
Now, all eyes will be on the third and final T20I which will take place at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, where both teams will be eager to clinch the series.
