The big news development coming from the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) camp is that they have dropped their overseas all-rounder Romario Shepherd for their fourth game of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The Lucknow Super Giants are coming into this match after a pretty comprehensive 5-wicket win against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The KL Rahul-led LSG team have managed to win 2 out of their 3 matches in the ongoing edition of the IPL.
During the toss, Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul stated that big-hitting all-rounder Romario Shepherd has not been included in the LSG Playing XI in this RCB vs LSG IPL 2023 match. However, this seems to be a pure tactical change as Lucknow Super Giants premier pace bowler Mark Wood is absolutely fit and thus, he returns to the side. Shepherd played the last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad where he got dismissed by leg-spinner Adil Rashid for a golden duck and his services with the ball were not used.
“We will bowl first, Going by the history of the ground. Quite simple and straightforward. It is still home. I have grown up here and played all my cricket. We got close against CSK trying to chase down 220. The crowd will be getting loud and getting behind their team. Few changes. Wood comes back in. Yash is out. Few other changes as well,” said Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul during the toss.
