Delhi Capitals are hosting Chennai Super Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi in match no 67 of Tata IPL 2023. Chennai Super Kings have once again gone unchanged which means English Test skipper is yet to find a place in the eleven.
Having won the toss and elected to bat first, Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni announced that they are once again going with an unchanged XI. Dhoni’s decision was on expected lines and with the dryness of wicket, it was expected he would go for Moeen Ali rather than Ben Stokes. This is Stokes last IPL 2023 stay as he will then fly back to England to prepare for the Ashes Test series which will be following the WTC Final to be held between India and Australia at the Oval Cricket Ground in London. Check what MS Dhoni said at the toss,
“We will bat. We’ve been trying to win games right from the first game. We’re playing the same XI, it’s a balanced eleven and we don’t need to make many changes. Day game, the pitch will also slow down as the match progresses, that’s the reason we wanted to bat first. In a tournament like this, we’ll have good and bad games, need to take the learnings from every game and that’s what I want the youngsters in the team to learn.”
