Nissanka’s cricketing journey began amidst adversity. His father, Sunil Silva, worked as a ground boy while his mother sold flowers near a temple to support the family. His List A debut for Hambantota District in the 2016–17 Districts One Day Tournament marked his entry into competitive cricket. Swiftly transitioning, he made his Twenty20 debut for Badureliya Sports Club in the 2017–18 SLC Twenty20 Tournament, showcasing his adaptability across formats.

Nissanka’s journey through domestic cricket saw him donning various jerseys. From being part of Kandy’s squad in the Super Four Provincial Tournament to his presence in the SLC Greens team for the 2021 SLC Invitational T20 League tournament, he left an indelible mark.

Career

He made his mark with Sri Lanka A, emerging as their leading run-scorer against Ireland A in the first-class series.
