The first-ever season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) was played in 2023 and now we are gearing up for the second season in 2024. A total of five teams participated in the competition and fans witnessed many outstanding performances with the bat and the ball.

Many batters stood out with their consistent performances throughout the tournament. Meanwhile, in this post, we will take a look at the top five batters with the most runs in WPL (Women’s Premier League).

The former Aussie skipper Meg Lanning finished as the Orange Cap winner in the first season of the WPL and she is the highest run-getter of the competition. Lanning has amassed a total of 345 runs in 9 matches at an average of 49.28 and a strike rate of 139.11.

The English batter Nat Sciver-Brunt is the second-highest run-getter in the WPL. She has scored a total of 332 runs in 10 matches at an average of 140.08 as she played a pivotal role in winning the title for Mumbai Indians.

The Australian all-rounder Tahila McGrath is the third on the list of the leading run-scorers in the WPL. McGrath has scored a total of 302 runs in 9 matches at an average of 50.33 and a strike rate of 158.11. Tahila was one of the most consistent batters during the first season of the WPL and she was the major force behind UP Warriorz’s run to the playoffs.

Indian Team’s and Mumbai Indians’ skipper Harmanpreet Kaur is the 4th highest run-scorer in the WPL. The right-handed batter has scored a total of 281 runs in 10 matches, including three fifties.

Playing for Mumbai Indians, Hayley Matthews scored a total of 271 runs in 10 matches in the inaugural season of the WPL. The West Indies all-rounder is the fifth-highest run-getter in the competition.
