Cricket West Indies has announced a 15-man squad for the 2-match Test series against India in October 2025. The two matches will be played in Ahmedabad and New Delhi and will also serve as the maiden test assignment for the West Indies in the new ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025–27 cycle. West Indies last toured India for a Test series 7 years ago in 2018.

The squad led by Roston Chase blends youth and experience, with a focus on spin, pace variety, and top-order stability.
Both matches are part of the World Test Championship, making them crucial for early points in the new cycle. The West Indies squad will arrive in Ahmedabad on September 24, giving them a week to acclimatize before the first Test.
For West Indies, this series is more than just a bilateral contest—it’s a litmus test for their lost Test identity. With Roston Chase at the helm and a refreshed lineup, the team aims to shed its inconsistency and build a competitive red-ball unit. Their recent humiliation at home against Australia has revealed many potholes in the team’s ability, but with a refreshed and renewed squad, the West Indies will look to aim for glory and get better in the ever-evolving scenario of Test cricket.
India, meanwhile, will look to dominate at home and kickstart their WTC campaign with maximum points. This would be Team India’s first home Test assignment after their humiliating 3-0 loss to New Zealand, their first Test series defeat after 12 long years at home.
Both teams have a point to prove, making the series a must-watch. These two tests promise high-quality cricket, strategic battles, and a glimpse into the future of West Indies Test cricket. Whether West Indies’ new-look squad can rise to the occasion remains to be seen, but the intent is clear: rebuild, compete, and challenge the best.
