PAK vs SA Dream11 Match Prediction | Who Will Win Today Match

Cape Town, January 03-07 at 02:00 PM IST

After six wickets win in the Boxing Day Test, Proteas look to start the year on a high and seal the series when they host Pakistan at  Newlands, Cape Town for the second test starting from January 03. The hosts dominated the visitors in almost every aspect in a low scoring affair on a tricky pitch. After bowling out Pakistan under 200 runs in both the innings, hosts chased down 149 runs target in the last innings to register six wickets win and take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Selection headaches for both the sides

A couple of key players missed out due to injury concerns in the first test from both the sides. The hosts were without Vernon Philander while Pakistan missed out Harris Sohail and M Abas due to injuries. Now, as all the three are fully fit and in contention to play, both the sides will have to make tough calls to rope them in the playing11.

Duanne Olivier who was assisting Dale Steyn and Kagiso Rabada in Philander’s absence returned with 6 wickets in first innings and five wickets in second innings. Now, with Philander regaining his fitness Proteas are in a dilemma whether to drop a bowler or a specialist batsman.

The same is the case with Pakistan, young Shaheen Shah Afridi who was cover for M Abbas took 4 wickets in the first innings and sent back skipper Faf Du Plessis on a duck in the second innings. With the experienced pacer match fit, it will be harsh on the young talented to sit on the bench.

So, it will be interesting to watch how the teams pick up the right combination ahead of the second test. Pakistan is struggling with the batting woes and with Philander joining Steyn and Rabada, it is only going to worsen for the visitors.

Pitch report:

Unlike the uneven bounce at Centurion, Cape Town’s wicket is going to be a bit batting-friendly but will surely have some assistance for the pacers.
