Canterbury, April 17, Wednesday at 05:30 PM IST
The defending champions Hampshire and last year’s runner-up Kent Spitfires will square off at St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury to begin their Royal London One Day Cup 2019 campaign tomorrow. Both the sides are placed in the South Group and will hit the ground at 05:30 PM IST in the evening.
Put into bat first at Lord’s London, Hampshire posted 330-7 in the allotted overs with the help of Rilee Rossouw’s ton and timely fifties from Tom Alsop and Sam Northeast.
In reply, Kent folded up at 269 in 47.1 overs and fell short by 61 runs, despite the fifties from Daniel Bell Drummond and skipper Sam Billings.
While Kent will be looking to avenge their last year’s loss Hampshire will be excited to begin their title defence. With both the teams looking to start the campaign on a high, a cracker of a game is expected in St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury tomorrow.
