South Group table topper, Somerset will be looking for their fourth win on the trot when they face Essex at The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton on Friday noon. This will be the first time both the sides will be coming face to face in this season.
Somerset secured 68 runs win over Sussex under the DLS method in the last encounter. It was also their third win on the trot as they thrashed Kent by a massive 264 runs in the opening encounter and clinched 2 runs win over Glamorgan in the second encounter. Looking to continue their momentum, they would be hoping for another win when they face out of sorts Essex at Taunton in the evening.
Essex, on the opposite, has one win and two loss in three outings. after securing 180 runs win over Glamorgan in the opening fixture, Essex has kind of lost the momentum and has faced two back to back defeats at the hands of Middlesex and Surrey. They would be looking to secure a win and return to winning ways when they face the table topper on Friday’s fixture.
