The inaugural edition of Afghanistan Premier League 2018 will get underway on October 05, Friday with Kabul Zwanan and Paktia Panthers locking horns in the season opener at Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium, Sharjah. The 23-match tournament will witness five teams competing for the title at a single venue – Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium, Sharjah.
The five franchises are based out of the following provinces in Afghanistan – Kabul, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Balkh and Paktia and will compete under Afghanistan Cricket Board administration. Afghanistan Cricket Board is eyeing to make APL a giant brand and attract maximum players, crowds & viewership from across the globe. ACB wants Afghanistan Premier League to be in top 3 cricket leagues in the world.
Brendon McCullum, Sunil Narine, Mitchell McClenaghan, Dwayne Bravo, Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Chris Lynn, Shahid Afridi are a few of the notable T20 players who will gather all the attention to the tournament.
