VVS, one of the most enigmatic characters in Indian Cricket

The wristy Hyderabadi, as good as his idol Azharuddin with the on-side play, is remembered as Australia’s nemesis. In March 2001, he produced arguably the best innings by an Indian batsman – a magnificent 281 – to turn Kolkata Test on its head against Steve Waugh’s invincible Australia. After India’s 2003-04 tour Down Under, the Australians had admitted that they had no clue where to bowl to him.

Former India off-spinner and team-mate Harbhajan Singh led birthday wishes for VVS.

The witty Viru had a special birthday wish for a really special man, calling him “kalaai jaadugar

Former India team-mates Amit Mishra and RP Singh also tweeted wishes for Laxman.

Sunrisers Hyderabad mentor Tom Moody also wished Laxam on his birthday.
