Hardik Pandya ruled out of AUS Series; Jadeja to replace him

By Chaitanya Laxman

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of the T20I and ODI series against Australia due to back stiffness. The team management has roped in Ravindra Jadeja as his replacement in the ODI squad.

Pandya ruled out due to back stiffness

The Indian all-rounder is suffering from back stiffness and hence has been ruled out of the Australia series. With the World Cup approaching, the team management would be looking to give Pandya ample time to get fully fit.

Pandya had suffered an injury in the last year as well which ruled him out of the all-important Test series against Australia. The right-hand batsman then joined the team for the ODI series but had to return back to India following a suspension for making inappropriate comments in a television show.

The Indian all-rounder then featured in the series against New Zealand where he played three T20Is and three ODIs. He picked seven wickets in six games and scored 86 runs as well.

The team management has included left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja in the team as a replacement for Pandya for the five ODIs.
