Windies captain Jason Holder has revealed his team’s strategy for the fifth ODI against India. The right-arm pace bowler has stated that looking for wickets in the first ten overs instead of containing the runs will be their plan during the ODI to be played on 01st November.

Got to take the gamble upfront: Holder

The visiting captain is well aware of the strength of India’s top-order and hence he has devised a strategy for them. He said that they have got to take a gamble upfront to get India’s wickets. He believes that if you get India’s wickets, then you’re always in with a shout.

He also feels that they need to put a little more pressure on the middle to lower half which he notes that has probably not been tested as much as the top order has been in this series.

Holder’s plan against Rohit

Rohit Sharma has scored two big hundreds in the four ODIs so far in this series and Holder admits that he is a really a good player, one of those players who if he gets in, then he goes pretty big. At the same time, the Windies captain made it clear that the conditions are such that they favor the batters.

When asked about their strategy against Rohit, he said that they just got to hang in there a little longer, probably challenge him a little more outside the off stump for longer periods to try and get his wicket.

He revealed that there is no point sitting back in the first 10 overs hoping to contain as everyone knows how dangerous he can be when he gets in the flow. So he believes that they got to get him out.

India lead the series 2-1

Team India is currently leading the five-match ODI series 2-1 and the final match of the series will be played on 01st November at Thiruvananthapuram.
