Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) denied the request of the players to feature in the Afghanistan Premier League starting October 5 as quoted by a renowned media house of Pakistan. The board has refused to provide No Objection Certificate to the players which is needed to take part in the league.

Players like Sohail Tanvir, Mohammad Irfan, Kamran Akmal and Iftikhar Ahmed requested PCB again to look out the decision once again, but the board remained unshaken.

Later on, PCB made some changes on their headstrong decision and granted permission to the retired players; still, professionally active members are not allowed to take part.

The decision impacted the players who are active but are not in the national team like Tanvir, Irfan, Akmal while Mohammad Hafeez, Wahab Riaz and Faheem Ashraf will be on the national duty.

Former Pakistani captain and legendary cricketer Shahid Afridi is the only free bird who will be taking part in the naïve league. He will be the only player from Pakistan participating in APL as well.

Afghanistan Premier League is all set to roar from October 5 in Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium, UAE. The league has five teams namely Paktia Panthers, Kabul Zwanan, Nangarhar Leopards, Kandahar Knights and Balkh Legends which will play 23 matches. The Tournament will bids adieu on 21 October.  It is the sixteenth franchise league of the T-20 format in the world right now.
