Indian skipper Virat Kohli celebrated his 30th birthday today and the cricket fraternity showered wishes on the Indian batsman on social media.

From under-19 to India’s skipper

Kohli came into the limelight for leading the India under-19 team to world cup victory. The Delhi batsman soon made it to India’s national team but wasn’t much effective in his initial years. However, with time he established himself as a solid middle-order batsman and was part of India’s world cup winning team in 2011.

The right-hand batsman became a run-machine since 2013 and after a little slump in 2015 has become unstoppable in all three formats of the game. After MS Dhoni stepped down from captaincy, Kohli was the automatic choice for the leadership role.

He is currently at the top in ICC’s ODI and T20I batting ranking and has become the quickest to reach to 10000 ODI runs.
