Match: Bangalore vs Hyderabad, Indian T20 League
Date: 23rd April, 2022
Time: 07:30 PM IST
Venue: Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai
The Indian T20 League 2022 is half-way done, and the points table is starting to take shape. Bangalore and Hyderabad have been on a roll in their recent matches. The two teams are strong contenders for the T20 League title.
Bangalore’s batters are absolutely butchering the bowlers of other teams. Meanwhile, Hyderabad’s bowlers have been relentless with the white bowlers in their hands. This battle is most likely to be one of the best matches in the tournament so far. Both the teams are amped because of their recent matches, and will put everything in the ground.
Bangalore absolutely dominated the team of Lucknow in their last match. Skipper Faf du Plessis took matters in his hands and led from the front. After a shaky start, Plessis hit 96 runs off 64 balls. His innings consisted of 11 fours and 2 sixes. This was his career-best performance in the Indian T20 League.
Apart from Plessis, Dinesh Karthik, Glenn Maxwell, the fans are worried about the off-key performance of the former Bangalore captain, Virat Kohli. The highest run-scorer of the Indian T20 League got out on a duck in his last match. However, the fans are still expecting for Kohli to bounce back and own the remainder of the season.
At the start of this season, Bangalore’s bowling unit was a matter of concern. However, after the last match, the bowling division looks stronger than ever. Josh Hazlewood was a highlight and sent 4 Lucknow batters back in the dressing room. Harshal Patel took 2 wickets, but proved costly in the span of his 4 overs. Mohammed Siraj managed to pluck 1 wicket as well for the team.
Hyderabad currently has the longest winning streak of this year’s Indian T20 League. Kane Williamson’s team had a rocky start to this season. After losing their first two matches, the future looked dim for the former title winner. However, it was the top order of Hyderabad who stepped up to the mark and changed the things for the team. Additionally, the bowlers continue to do their magic with the white bowl between the wickets.
Youngster Abhishek Sharma proved his worth in the top order. Plus, Nicholas Pooran, Aidan Markram and Rahul Tripathi have taken it upon themselves to strengthen the middle order. However, the on-and-off form of skipper Kane Williamson has been a matter of concern for the fans. Williamson has not hit enough runs in the last few matches. However, one can never count out the might of Williamson.
The bowling unit has been the highlight for the Hyderabad franchise. T Natrajan has now become the highest wicket-taker of the team, with 12 wickets in his bag. Veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar is back in his form and grabbed 3 wickets in the last match.
The pitch at the Brabourne in recent matches has produced high-scoring performances in the Indian T20 League. Similarly, this match is also supposed to be a high-scoring encounter.
