RR vs RCB: Who will win?

Buckle up your seats. To start off the weekend, IPL 2020 has scheduled an exciting clash between King Kohli and the modern-day Don Steve Smith. Yes, the Rajasthan Royals will take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 15th match of IPL 2020. It will be the first afternoon game of this season and hence the spinners are expected to play a major role in deciding the match outcome. And for that reason, RCB, who have a better spin attack at their disposal are expected to edge over the Royals in this exciting encounter. So if you are in for online IPL betting, place your money on RCB.

Strength

Royal Challengers Bangalore:

  • They have a strong batting line-up on paper.
  • Presence of genuine match-winners like Kohli, Chahal, ABD, and Finch who can single-handedly win matches for their team.
  • Strong spin attack. The trio of Washington Sundar, Chahal, and Zampa seems to work well.

Rajasthan Royals:

  • In Buttler, Smith, and Samson, they have one of the most dynamic top three that a T20 team could ever wish for.
  • Most of their players who bat in the lower middle order can be very handy with the bat. Players like Rahul Tewatia and Jofra Archer provides much greater batting depth to RR.
  • In Jofra Archer, they have one of the best T20 death over specialist.

Weakness

Royal Challengers Bangalore:

  • They have been possibly the worst team in death bowling. In the last two matches combined, they have conceded 163 runs in the last 4 overs. None of their pacers have good economy rates at the death.
  • The current form of Virat Kohli is a huge worry.
  • Weak lower middle order.

Rajasthan Royals:

  • RR’s bowling is a huge worry. Unadkat and the spinners need to step up their game.
  • RR’s Indian middle-order looks weak. If the top order doesn’t fire, then they are in very serious trouble.
  • RR doesn’t have a good enough spin attack to survive in Abu Dhabi.

  • RCB has a well potent spin attack than RR, and they are expected to exploit the afternoon Abu Dhabi conditions better than RR, who struggled in adapting to the change in the venue last time. For that reason, RCB is expected to edge over RR, as per today match prediction.
  • RR depends heavily on the top three. With RCB bowlers having good enough numbers in the early part of the innings, the chances of those three carrying out the rescue operations are quite slim.

RR VS RCB MATCH PREDICTION

Photo: BCCI

The first of many IPL doubleheader will start today, with Steve Smith led RR taking on the Virat Kohli led RCB. Both teams are coming off from contrasting situations. RCB who had a dismal show against KXIP came back strongly against MI and showed discipline in almost all departments of the game, except death bowling. After having had the match comfortably in their hands after the first 10 overs, RCB almost gifted MI a win in the last encounter, only to save themselves later in the super over. If such misery continues in the death overs, then they are in very serious trouble. Other than that the major factor concerning them is the form their captain Virat Kohli. He is struggling for form at the moment, and if he too comes good, then that batting line-up is as deadly as it can get. Zampa and Udana who came into the eleven in the last match, showed great promise, except in death overs. Despite that, they are expected to keep their place. The spin trio of Washington Sundar, Yuzi Chahal, and Adam Zampa holds the key for RCB’s chances in this match. No changes are expected in their eleven.

RR on the other hand had a game to forget in Dubai last time. After cruising along in both the matches played in Sharjah, they showed great problem in adapting to the larger grounds of Dubai. If that still continues, they stand no chance in Abu Dhabi. Their areas of concern are domestic middle-order batting and death bowling. Robin Uthappa who is struggling badly may make way for Manan Vohra.

No other big changes are expected from the men in pink.
