Australia vs England

Australia vs England: England suffered a 6-wicket loss to Australia in the 1st ODI held in Adelaide. The T20 World Cup champions took the field immediately after the finals and couldn’t quite get the better of the home team in the longer format of white ball cricket. Few of their key players were rested after the successful T20 World Cup campaign. With the series on the line, most of them are expected to be back in the side. Let’s see what possible changes England is likely to make for this fixture.

1. Moeen Ali to replace Liam Dawson

One sure change expected for the 2nd ODI is the presence of the England vice-captain Moeen Ali. He openly raised his concerns over the tight schedule and was at the receiving end of criticisms from top stars like Michael Clarke. But now with the series on the line, he is expected to come back and replace Liam Dawson in the playing XI.

2.  Sam Curran to replace Luke Wood

Man of the tournament from the recently concluded T20 World Cup, Sam Curran was rested for the 1st  ODI. With the series on the line, he might replace Luke Wood in the playing XI. Luke had a par game in Adelaide as he conceded 59 runs in 10 overs without any wickets to his name.

3. Woakes to replace Jordan

English all-rounder Chris Woakes was rested for the 1st ODI. He could replace Chris Jordan in the XI. Jordan was expensive in the last match and the inclusion of Woakes in his place would provide England with more batting cushion in a batting-friendly SCG.
