4. Aaron Finch

Aaron Finch is one of the most destructive openers in the white-ball cricket right now, but his captaincy has impressed many experts of the game. Being handed over the reign of the white-ball side after the ball-tampering scandal, Finch has led his side from the front. He guided Australia to a World cup semi-final, something which many would have doubted in the led up to the tournament. In 35 ODI matches, he has led Aussies to a win on 19 occasions. In the 34 T20Is in which he has captained, Australia has won 18 contests.

5. Tim Paine

Tim Paine took over the captaincy role of the Test side in the most desperate times in Australian cricket. Having lost their captain and vice-captain to the ball-tampering scandal, the side looked for a role model and inspiring captain and Paine delivered. After battling a tough a year in Test cricket and helping build the team again, Paine’s true success came in England last year. Australia drew the Ashes 2-2 and retained the urn for the first time in 19 years. In 19 Tests he had led, Australia has won 10, including an ongoing seven Tests unbeaten run at home.
