5 Greatest T20 Players RANKED

T20 Cricket has caught the often caught limelight for its exhilarating action. In a span of four hours the audience is treated to batting might, electrifying fielding displays and innovative ways of picking up wickets. That being said, here are some of the players that have been sheer entertainers through their consistent performances in the shortest format of the game.

Rohit Sharma

The vice-captain of the Indian cricket team and the skipper of the Mumbai Indians. Rohit Sharma has been one of the most lethal players in T20 cricket. The ‘Hit-Min' as he's rightfully referred to has scored 2773 runs from a 100 innings for India.  Sharma has scored 21 fifties and four centuries in the international format at a strike rate of 138 which signifies why he books the top berth. In the IPL, Rohit Sharma as a captain has won four titles which is a remarkable feat of its own. Apart from that he's score 4898 with a strike rate of 130 from 183 innings.

Virat Kohli

It's a no-brainier that the Indian captain Virat Kohli makes the list. Kohli has an astonishing average of a 50.8 in T20 International which is a stat quite hard to attain give the nature of the format. He's scored 2794 runs from 76 games for India at a strike rate of 138.2 which also includes 24 fifties. Though he hasn't scored a ton for the ‘Men in Blue' yet, ‘King Kohli' has ensured that record by scoring five big centuries for the Royal Challengers Bangalore while having bagged 5412 runs from 169 innings in the IPL.

Chris Gayle

If there was someone ever to be considered a ‘Legend' in T20 cricket, Chris Gayle would definitely be one of the first few names to pop up on everyone's minds. The ‘Universe Boss'  has been a part of 58 T20Is for the West Indies having scored 1627 runs with a strike rate of 142, that includes 13 fifties and two centuries. Not to forget, Gayle has been a part of two T20 World Cup triumphs. The veterans opener's best however, has come in the IPL where he's smashed 4484 runs with an average of 41.1 that includes a strike rate of an astonishing 151. Chris Gayle has 28 fifties and six centuries from 125 IPL games and his score of 175* for RCB to this date remains the highest ever score by a batsman in T20 cricket.

AB de Villiers

If there is any other batsman, the bowlers would prefer not bowling to apart from Chris Gayle, then it has to be ‘Mr 360' AB de Villiers.  The former South African is known for his unprecedented ability of hitting the ball all-around the park with maximum output. It's in the IPL once again where ABD has more often than not unleashed his true potential. The 36-year-old has scored 4395 runs from 142 innings  at a strike rate of 151.2 that includes 33 fifties and three centuries. The South African is also a live wire in the fielding department that makes him a real asset for any side.

Dwayne Bravo

A ‘Champion' in the shortest format of the game and a two-time T20 World Cup winner. Dwayne Bravo has some staggering numbers to back him that suggests he's one of the most critical players in T20 cricket. The West Indies all-rounder has featured in a total of 455 games and has 6307 runs at a strike rate of 126.87 that includes 20 fifties. But it's his medium pace and variations that come with it that has earned him dividends. DJ Bravo has scalped 497 wickets from in T20 cricket which is also the most by any cricketer in the shortest format and one of the hardest records to overcome. Keeping the individual brilliance aside, Bravo has also won the IPL, the Big Bash League, the Caribbean Premier League, the Bangladesh Premier League and the Pakistan Super League.
