He has often played a starring role in numerous Pakistani wins against India. His stance toward India is one of the main reasons why Indian supporters hate him. The Pakistani all-rounder once stated that after losing against Pakistan, Indian players would beg for forgiveness.

On and off the field, Afridi has had a few spats with Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir, which hasn’t helped his case. Earlier in 2020, the former Pakistan captain had a Twitter Q&A session.
