500+ ODI scores ‘Not very far away’

England would be kicking themselves not to get 500 in the Nottingham ODI against Australia. It would have made them the first team to register “500” in One Day Internationals.

While Alex Hales described it as “really good fun”, it was ignominy for the Australians. At one point, Bairstow topping Rohit's record of 264 looked a possibility. Such was the extent of batting brutality at Trent Bridge.

As it turned out, England lost three wickets for 22 in 17 balls at the closing stage and missed the chance to get to 500. Going by the developments, the day is not far!

2018 has been the year of change, with ODI cricket getting highest totals in Men's as well as Women's game.

It was the third instance of three 100+ run partnerships in one ODI innings.
