Ashes Test Schedule For 2021-22 and other Details Announced

Ashes schedule 2021-22: In a massive development, the schedule for the Ashes series 2021-22 has been officially announced and Australian team will start their Ashes ‘Urn’ defense with the first of the five Tests at The Gabba in Brisbane from December 8. The five-match Test series between hosts Australia and England will end with the fifth and final Test match scheduled in Perth on January 18. Ahead of the Ashes, Australia will also host Afghanistan for a one-off Test starting from November 27 in Hobart.

Ashes Schedule 2021-22

The iconic Ashes series between England and Australia will begin with the first Test scheduled at The Gabba in Brisbane from December 8 and then the two teams will lock horns in a day-night Test at the Adelaide Oval starting from December 16. The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) will host the famous Boxing Day Test match while the New Year’s Test will be played in Sydney beginning from December 26 and January 5, 2022 respectively. The Australian Men’s team will conclude the Ashes series with the final Test in Perth from January 18, 2022.

1st Test: December 8-12, Gabba
2nd Test: December 16-20, Adelaide Oval (D/N)
3rd Test: December 26-30, MCG
4th Test: January 5-9, SCG
5th Test: January 14-18, Perth

Women’s Ashes Schedule

On the other hand, the Women’s Ashes schedule has also been announced and the Australia and England Women’s teams will play a single Test, three ODIs and three T20Is starting from January 27, 2022. The only Women’s Ashes Test will be played at Canberra’s Manuka Oval while the T20Is and ODIs will be hosted in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. On the conclusion of the Women’s Ashes series, both Australia and England Women’s teams will travel to New Zealand for the 50-over ICC Women’s World Cup.
