AUS Playing 11: Australia has lost its first ODI series against Sri Lanka for the first time since 2010. The side lost the 4th decider ODI by four runs. Australia initially had control in their decider game but lost the grip after the twenty-fifth over. At the start of thirty sevenths’ over, David Warner’s crucial wicket evoked winning hopes in Sri Lanka’s dugout.
After Warner, it was Pat Cummins’s innings that shed some light on the Aussies’ chances to win the decider game, but the hopes went down crashing. Though Australia lost by a minimal margin, the team kept up the fighting spirit.
With that being said, the Aussies will look to win the last game of the series. Besides, Finch’s bowling unit looks in great form for the upcoming match. Australia and Sri Lanka will square off against each other in the 5th ODI game on 24th June 2022 at Colombo at 2:30 PM IST.
