Australia vs South Africa 2nd Test: Australia have always dominated while playing at home especially in the longest format of the game as witnessed over the years in the cricketing history. On the back of a stunning 92-run knock by Travis Head, Australia picked up an incredible 6-wicket victory against South Africa in the opening Test match which ended in a span of less than 2 days. With a lead of 1-0 in the three-match Test series, Australia will be eyeing to seal the series in their favour when they meet South Africa for the 2nd Test match starting from 26 December, 2022 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne.
The pitch at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is once again expected to provide much more assistance to the fast bowlers as seen in the past on this venue. Normally, the drop-in wicket at the MCG has offered a batting-friendly track especially for the first three days but it looks like this won’t be the case for the Australia vs South Africa 2nd Test match starting from Monday. There was a lot of chatter after the Gabba Test match between Australia and South Africa ended within 2 days as it had a lot of help for the pace bowlers. However, according to some reports, a lot of grass will be present on the MCG wicket for the upcoming Test and things will be once again challenging for the batters.
