BAN Playing XI – Amid all the controversies around the squad selection, Bangladesh will square off against fellow Asian side Afghanistan in their first game of the ODI World Cup 2023. The match will be played on Saturday, 7th October.
Bangladesh have a strong bowling unit but they are looking a bit thinner in the batting department. They managed to sign off from the Asia Cup 2023 with a morale-boosting win over India after a disappointing run in the continental tournament.
The Tigers managed to keep the momentum by winning the first ODI against New Zealand but lost the next two to lose the series. Bangladesh are not looking settled currently and they will have to find their mojo soon if they want to challenge the bigger oppositions.
One could expect two different Bangladesh sides in this event as they are bound to perform well on the spinning tracks, but they could struggle on the batting-friendly surfaces.
