Rohit Sharma Injury BAN vs IND: In a massive breaking news development, India’s captain Rohit Sharma has been ruled out out for the upcoming second and final Test match against Bangladesh scheduled to begin from 22 December, 2022 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. Team India managed to register a pretty convincing 188-run victory over Bangladesh in the opening Test match on Sunday. The visitors have now taken a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series and also claimed the third position on the points table of ICC World Test Championship 2022-23 cycle.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma injured his left thumb while fielding during the BAN vs IND 3rd ODI in Chattogram and was unavailable for the first Test match due to the same injury. However, the latest update is that the Indian skipper is still suffering from a little bit of stiffness and he will not be travelling to Bangladesh for the second and final Test match starting from Thursday. This also means that Rohit is currently in Mumbai and KL Rahul will continue to lead India in the 2nd Test match against Bangladesh as well.
It will be really interesting to see whether Rohit Sharma will be available for the upcoming white-ball series against Sri Lanka at home. India is scheduled to host Sri Lanka for a three-match T20I series followed by three ODIs in January next year.
