NZ Playing 11: New Zealand’s tour of Bangladesh is ready to start as both sides get ready to face off in the first T20I at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. NZ last played a T20I way back in April. They defeated Bangladesh comprehensively at home but it will be a totally different ball game here. The conditions are expected to be slow and turning and the hosts have all the resources to make best use of it. In the head-to-head record, both teams have played 10 T20Is in which NZ leads Bangladesh 10-0.

  • None of the players in the squad for this series is a part of NZ T20 World Cup squad.
  • With Finn Allen having tested positive for Covid-19, NZ have called up Matt Henry to join the squad.
  • Ben Sears and Cole McConchie are two new players in the squad.

The Kiwis have a fairly inexperienced team as their several players are missing due to other commitments. Tom Latham will be looking to make a mark here and prove his T20 credentials. The conditions are likely to be difficult and it will test the young NZ batters.  In the bowling department, NZ will rely upon the experienced Ajaz Patel to make full use of helpful conditions.
