Bhuvneshwar Kumar gives hilarious response to fan who asked ‘if he would like to open the batting with Jasprit Bumrah’

Ever since the beginning of T20 cricket and especially franchise cricket, captains all around the world have often taken the gamble of promoting hard-hitting bowlers to top of the batting order. More often than not, it has paid huge dividends as well. Indian pace bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar was involved in a Twitter Q&A session recently under the name #AskBhuvi. During the Q&A session, one of his fans asked him if he would like to open the batting with his fellow bowling partner Jasprit Bumrah.

Fans want to see Bhuvneshwar and Bumrah opening the batting together

One of the most interesting questions that Bhuvneshwar Kumar faced during his twitter Q&A session was whether he would like to open the batting for India with his bowling partner Jasprit Bumrah. The question was asked to hilariously mock the batting skills of these two strike bowlers. Bhuvneshwar also took it in a light-hearted manner and responded to it in a hilarious manner.

“@BhuviOfficial sir opening aana pasand karenge bumrah ke sath. #askbhuvi” asked his fan.

He responded to it with a GIF, which read:

Bhuvneshwar Kumar- the batsman

Even though this question was meant to just pull his leg, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is a good enough batsman amongst all the bowlers that India has. Despite the very limited opportunities that Indian lower middle order usually gets to bat, he still possesses a half-century to his name in One Day International cricket and three half-centuries in Test cricket. He even averages 31.5 at number 8 position in Test cricket.

India being a country that takes less gamble with the batting order compared to other top nations, Bhuvneshwar has never had the opportunity to bat above number 7 for the national side.

On the other hand, several of his other fellow bowlers have got the chance to showcase their batting skills in various franchise tournaments, Sunil Narine and Rashid Khan being some of the prominent names.
