Injuries are part and parcel of the game. But it’s not easy when you have to leave out from a top-class competition like IPL after just 1 week from its commencement. The star Indian pacer and the leader of SRH’s pace attack, Bhuvneshwar Kumar along with his fellow leg spinner from Delhi Capitals, Amit Mishra have been ruled out from the remainder of the IPL, due to the injuries they suffered during their last match.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s lead pace bowler, Bhuvneshwar Kumar sustained a hip injury during their match against CSK on Friday. Coming into bowl the second ball of the 19th over, he aborted his run-up mid-way due to strain and called upon the team Physio to have a look. He then received treatment on the field and decided to bowl again after getting his leg strapped. But as it turned out, that too wasn’t enough to reduce his pain. He aborted his run-up for the third time and decided to walk out of the field. Khaleel Ahmed completed his remaining five balls and SRH eventually went on to win that match.

Now as per the reports coming in, his injury looks serious and he will be out of the action for the remainder of the IPL.

“Bhuvi will not be able to take further part in this year’s tournament as he has been ruled out with a hip injury. A big blow for sure as he is someone who leads the bowling unit and is also an integral part of the leadership group on the ground,” the source said.

The veteran DC leg spinner, Amit Mishra is also reported to miss the remainder of the IPL season due to the finger injury he sustained during the match against KKR on Saturday. He sustained the injury during the second innings of the match when he tried to catch a ball off his own bowling to affect a caught and bowled. While doing the same he hurt his fingers and looked in great discomfort. But despite that, he went onto finish his over, even though he failed to complete his quota of four overs.

Certain top media houses and even the popular cricket journalists like Harsha Bhogle and Aakash Chopra has confirmed this news. It would be a huge blow for DC, as he is one of the IPL legends. He has more than 150 IPL wickets and was one of the major reasons for their success in the last few matches. DC management is yet to name his replacement.
