Indian women cricketer Smriti Mandana has said that she was bullied in the team but at the same time feels that it is a part and parcel of growing up. The Indian cricketer also opened up on growing up as a cricketer and the the chances of IPL for women cricketers.

 

Learnt a lot by looking at my brother: Mandhana 

In an event conducted by a news channel, the young Indian cricketer spoke about her childhood days. She said that she was five or six years old when she started playing cricket and her dad was scared she would be hit.

She noted that she looks back at those days now and realise she learnt a lot by looking at her brother who was also a left-handed batsman.

 

Mandhana reveals she was called a kid in the team 

Mandhana made rapid progress in cricket and played international cricket at the age of just 17 years. When asked about her experience of being a young cricketer in the team, she revealed that she was called a young kid and she was bullied in the team. But at the same time she pointed out that there is  someone younger than her who is teased in the team.

The left-hander also pointed out that fresh blood always brings in a lot of positivity.

 

There might be an IPL for women: Mandhana

The 22-year-old cricketer mentioned that whenever they go out to play T20 leagues in Australia and England, everyone asks them when we can see an IPL for women.

Mandhana believes that if the Indian team performs well in the World T20, maybe there will be an IPL for women. However she made it clear that their focus is on winning the World T20 and as a team they  are not thinking too far ahead.
