After citing personal reasons for opting out from Windies limited overs squad against India, Universe Boss, Chris Gayle is all set to light up Afghanistan Premier League 2018. Gayle will be representing Balkh Legends in the inaugural edition of Afghanistan Premier League and is set to play his first game against Paktia Panthers tomorrow night.

While Gayle’s absence from Windies squad could be a huge blow for the side, his presence in the APL 2018 will certainly entertain the audience.

Windies ace batsman shared this post on his arrival and the fans are waiting for him to step into the crease. Balkh Legends have won both their starting games and are sitting at the top position. They will be playing their third game against the Paktia Panthers in which Chris Gayle’s presence is expected. Along with Gayle, Legends also include Colin Munro, Ben Laughlin, Mohammad Nabi, Ravi Bopara, Mohammad Irfan, and Ryan Ten Doeschate in their squad.

According to WICB chairman of the selection panel, Courtney Browne, Chris Gayle will also be unavailable for Windies next tour against Bangladesh and has made himself available for series against England and World Cup 2019.

“We will be without our stalwart, Chris Gayle for this Indian tour and the next tour against Bangladesh as he has declined selection at this time, however, he has made himself available for the selection for the visit of England to the Caribbean and the World Cup in 2019,” Courtney Browne said.

After playing in Afghanistan Premier League, Chris Gayle will be taking part in the second season of T10 League in the UAE which is scheduled to take place from November 23 to December 2 and will join Windies squad next year for the England visit.
