ICC World Cup 2019: Sri Lanka quick in doubt for fixture against South Africa

After an exceptional effort against England, Sri Lanka would have thought of fielding the same combination against South Africa on Friday’s World Cup 2019 fixture. But, they have suffered a blow with Nuwan Pradeep down with fever and doubtful for the fixture at Chester-le-Street. If Pradeep doesn’t recover, Suranga Lakmal can come in.

Jeevan Mendis may face axing

Sri Lanka can also replace Jeevan Mendis who did not trouble the scorers with the bat after being up in the batting order. Also, he went for one too many in three overs he bowled. Milinda Siriwardana or Jeffrey Vandersay can feature replacing Mendis although Lahiru Thirimanne can be added as well as an additional batsman.
