246 vs Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2010 

CSK highest score in IPL came in the 2010 edition against Rajasthan Royals in Chennai. Opting to bat, the MS Dhoni-led started with a solid 65-run opening partnership between Murli Vijay and Mathew Hayden. While the latter got out on 34, the Indian batter continued to smack RR bowlers all over the park for his 127-run knock. A brutal knock of 64 runs by Albie Morkel, in the end, helped CSK post a total of 246 runs on the board. Even though RR batters displayed sensational performance but CSK emerged victorious by 23 runs.

240 vs Punjab Kings in IPL 2008 

The second CSK highest score in IPL was against Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in the inaugural edition of the tournament. Batting first, CSK lost both their openers for the score of 57 runs. Michael Hussey, who came to bat at No.3, took charge to the PBKS bowlers and paved his way through the century. On account of his 116 runs and vital contributions from others, CSK posted 240 runs on the board. Punjab fought hard but only managed 207 runs as ‘Men in Yellow’ won the match by 33 runs.

223 vs Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2013 

The third CSK highest score in IPL came in 2013 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Batting first, CSK openers Michael Hussey and Murli Vijay played their part scoring 67 and 29 respectively. However, Suresh Raina, who came to bat at No.3 gave a major boost to his team’s innings, smashing a brutal unbeaten 99 runs that helped his side post 223 runs on the board. CSK bowlers then restricted the opposition to 146 runs and won the match by 77 runs.

222 vs Delhi Capitals in IPL 2012

2012 edition of the IPL saw fourth CSK highest score in IPL. It came against Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) at Chennai during qualifier 1. Batting first, Murli Vijay single-handedly stole the show as he smashed a century to put his team in a perfect position. A late cameo by Dwayne Bravo, in the end, helped the MS Dhoni-led side post a mammoth total of 222 runs on the board. The ‘Men in Yellow’ then bundled out the opposition for 136 runs to win the match by 86 runs.

211 vs Delhi Capitals in IPL 2018 

2018 was CSK’s comeback season in the tournament after the match-fixing scandal. They not only won the title but in the season they also registered fifth CSK highest score in IPL. Batting first, CSK openers Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson smashed 102 runs opening partnership to set the tone for his side. Shane Watson smashed 78 runs while MS Dhoni finished the innings with a fiery 52 runs that helped his side post a total of 211 runs on the board. DC though came close to the target, but CSK held their nerves well and won the match by 13 runs.
