CSK Playing 11 IPL 2023

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be kickstarting their Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) campaign on the opening day of the tournament against the defending champions Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 31 March, 2023. After a below-par performance in the last edition of the T20 competition, the four-time champions will definitely be looking forward to make a strong comeback this season. CSK will also be eyeing to make full advantage of the recently added players in the IPL 2023 auction.

Predicted CSK Playing XI for GT vs CSK, Match 1 of IPL 2023

Chennai Super Kings found their best possible opening combination last year and they are very much likely to go in with the pair of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway at the start of IPL 2023 against Gujarat Titans. English all-rounder Moeen Ali will bat at three followed by the experienced Ambati Rayudu. The biggest advantage for CSK in IPL 2023 is the presence of multiple all-rounders like Ben Stokes, Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dube, Mitchell Santner, Dwaine Pretorius and Deepak Chahar. The trio of Stokes, Jadeja and Chahar part of the playing 11 while Dube, Pretorius and Santner will have to warm the bench at the start of the T20 tournament.

It will be really interesting to see the batting position of captain MS Dhoni in this line-up which has both Ben Stokes and Ravindra Jadeja. The Chennai Super Kings suffered a huge blow as their premier fast bowler Mukesh Choudhary who did really well in his debut IPL 2022 season, is currently doubtful this year due to injury. Deepak Chahar will be leading the pace bowling attack alongside right-arm pacer Simarjeet Singh and Dwaine Pretorius. Sri Lanka’s off-spinner Maheesh Theekshana was really impressive last year in the IPL, however, he won’t be available for the first few games as he will be playing for his national team in the T20I series against New Zealand. Therefore, leg-spinner Prashant Solanki might have an edge over Mitchell Santner as CSK already has a left-arm spinner in Jadeja.
