Who won today’s IPL match?: In what was the 59th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) clashed at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Rohit Sharma-led side, who were the first team to be knocked out the tournament, put on a display of cricketing skills to put a break on CSK’s hope to qualify for the playoffs. They thumped the the ‘Yellow Army’ to win their third match of the season.

Bowling first, it was exhibition of high-class bowling by the Mumbai Indians (MI) as they bundled out Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for just 97 runs. Daniel Sams provided his team a great start by taking three wickets up front before Jasprit Bumrah (1), Riley Meredith (2), Kumar Kartikeya (2) and Ramandeep Singh (1) combined to pick the rest seven wickets. MS Dhoni was the top-scored for his side with unbeaten 36 runs to his name.

Chasing the target, even though Mumbai Indians lost 5 wickets in Ishan Kishan (6) and Rohit Sharma early (18), Daniel Sams (1) and Tristan Stubbs (0) and Hrithik Shokeen (18), Tilak Varma (34*) stool tall for his side and won the match for his side with over 5 overs to spare. Tim David played also played a cameo of unbeaten 16 runs in 7 balls.

Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder Daniel Sams was awarded the Player of the Match in today’s encounter against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Mumbai. Sams returned with an exceptional figured of 3/16 in his quota of four overs. He provided his team a perfect start and removed CSK’s top-three in no time. His wickets included, Ruturaj Gaikwad (7), Devon Conway (0) and Moeen Ali (0).
