Nicholas Pooran IPL : Two teams in desperate need of some points in the ongoing IPL season – Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings are going head to head against each other at Chepauk currently. PBKS skipper KL Rahul won the toss and elected to bat first on a sluggish pitch. Punjab didn’t enjoy a good start as they lost their captain early in the innings.

David “Direct-hit” Warner!

Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner has always been a fantastic fielder and can be considered as one of the best in the world currently. He was at it again today in a scorching Chennai afternoon. West Indian sensation Nicholas Pooran is not having a great tournament after last year’s success in UAE. When he came to the crease today, he already had 2 ducks to his name from the last 3 innings.

Chris Gayle started running after placing a shot to extra cover region. David Warner was well aware of it and attacked the ball and gave himself plenty of time to have a shy at striker’s end. He hit bull’s eye and Nicholas Pooran was well short of his crease. In a spectacular fashion, he added third duck to his resume this season and the decision of sending him at no 4 by PBKS couldn’t pay dividends today.

Struggles Continue for PBKS!

Coming into this game after a couple of losses, Punjab Kings were hoping to make most of the conditions at Chepauk in the first dig. But they kept losing wickets on regular basis and as a result, they would end up making a below par total. After losing KL Rahul early, Mayank Agarwal and Chris Gayle tried to put on a partnership to rescue the ship. But once Mayank Agarwal was dismissed on 22, the procession began again which, in all likelihood, would cost PBKS the game.
