Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took to Twitter yesterday to share the news of Chinese apps ban and also trolled David Warner in the process. The Indian government has taken a stand against the Chinese government. The recent attacks in the Galwan valley of Kashmir on the Indian army by the Chinese has not gone well with the people in power.
A press release yesterday read – “The Ministry of Information Technology, invoking it’s power under section 69A of the Information Technology Act read with the relevant provisions of the Information Technology ,Rules 2009 and in view of the emergent nature of threats has decided to block 59 apps.
The ban also states that this will safeguard the interest of crores of Indians using mobile internet. It further read –“ In view of information available they are engaged in activities which is prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order”.
The Australian southpaw opener David Warner has gained huge fan following on the social media platform thanks to his dance skills. He enrolled in the tiktok application during the lockdown and became an instant hit. Many videos of him dancing with his daughters and wife on popular Hindi and Telugu songs became famous for Indians and also he was the content for a lot of meme creators. Owing to that, he has already earned more than 4 million followers on TikTok and most of his followers are from India.
However, his popularity on the video sharing platform is going to be affected with the Indian government’s latest decision and Ravichandran Ashwin did not waste any time in trolling the Australian. He tagged the left-handed batsman in his tweet while writing: “Appo Anwar?”. This dialogue is a popular reference from a Tamil film Baasha which featured superstar Rajinikanth. This roughly translates to “ What about David Warner then?”
