It is quite an obvious fact that the England team would have wanted to Jofra Archer part of the ENG playing 11 for the ENG vs AUS Ashes 2023 Test series but the speedster has been struggling with fitness issues for a while now. Earlier this year, the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed that Archer has sustained a recurrence of the stress fracture in his right elbow. Incidentally, he did play a few matches for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023). The English team management will now be hoping that he gets fit for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 in India scheduled to be held in October – November.

Interestingly, Jofra Archer last played a Test match against India in February 2021. The right-arm speedster has picked up as many as 42 wickets from 13 Test matches so far at an average of 31.05.
