ENG vs IND: Team India will play a three-day warm-up fixture against a County Select XI starting from 20 July in Durham ahead of the five-match Test series against England. In a recent development, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced the line-up of the County Select XI. The three-day practice match will be played behind closed doors.

Warwickshire captain Will Rhodes will captain the 14-member County Select XI squad that will face India in a warm-up match. The squad also includes wicket-keeper batsman James Bracey who recently made his Test debut against New Zealand while opening batsman Haseeb Hameed is also part of the line-up. Richard Dawson will head coach this County Select XI squad against India at the Emirates Riverside in Durham. The warm-up fixture will begin at 3:30 PM IST and live streaming will be available on YouTube.

Earlier in the day, it was officially confirmed by the BCCI that wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant had tested positive for Covid-19 and has also nearly completed his home quarantine period as well. Also, training assistant Dayanand Garani has tested positive for coronavirus. Pant is currently isolating at his friend’s place in UK while Garani tested positive during his stay at the team hotel. The BCCI medical team has identified bowling coach Bharat Arun, Wriddhiman Saha and Abhimanyu Easwaran as close contacts of Garani and now all four persons will undergo a 10-day isolation period. They will remain in their respective rooms in the team hotel in London.

Rest of the Indian contingent will assemble in Durham on 15 July. India will face England in the first of the five Test matches starting from 4 August at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
