SL vs ENG 2nd T20I

SL Playing 11: After losing the first T20I, Sri Lanka will look to level the series in the second match against England here at Cardiff. SL will be disappointed with their show in the last match. They promised attacking cricket before the first match but failed to deliver with their performance. Neither batting nor their bowling looked penetrative which will be a concern for the coach and skipper. In 10 head-to-head matches, England leads SL 6-4. The visitors will have to learn quickly from their mistakes if they want to return to winning ways.

Pathum Nissanka is seen as SL’s future and had good form in West Indies. He might replace Dhananjaya de Silva form the last game. Rest of the eleven is likely to be the same.

SL Playing 11 (likely)

Danushka Gunathilaka
Avishka Fernando
Kusal Perera (C) (wk)
Kusal Mendis
Pathum Nissanka
Dasun Shanaka
Wanindu Hasaranga
Isuru Udana
Nuwan Pradeep
Akila Dananjaya
Dushmantha Chameera

SL’s batters lacked intent as they were unable to increase the scoring rate. Despite skipper Kusal Perera promising attacking cricket, other batters failed to live up to the expectations. Batters like Gunathilaka and Kusal Mendis need to find a way to score runs here. In bowling, Chameera and Hasaranga looked good and bowled with good pace. But they did not have enough score to trouble the English batters.
