Billy Murdoch – Australia 

Billy Murdoch was the first Australian batter who registered the First double century in test cricket. The batter captained the side and in a match against England in Oval in 1884 achieved the feat. He scored 211 runs but unfortunately couldn’t help his team win the match as it ended in a draw.

Tip Foster – England 

Tip Foster scored the First double century in test cricket for England. He scored 287 runs in Ashes 1903 against Australia at SCG. His innings of 287 runs helped his side take a huge first-innings lead and win the match by 5 wickets.

Aubrey Faulkner – South Africa 

In a match against Australia in 1910 at MCG, Aubrey Faulkner from South Africa scored the First double century in test. His knock of 204 runs helped his side take a mammoth first-innings lead and it was certain that his innings would be match-winning. But Australian great skills and emerged victorious by 89 runs.

Clifford Roach – West Indies 

West Indian explosive batter Clifford Roach hit the First double century in test for his country. The batter in a match against England in 1930 in Georgetown scored 209 runs and helped his side win the match by 289 runs over Three Lions.

Martin Donnelly – New Zealand 

Marin Donnelly was the first Kiwi batter who scored the First double century in test for New Zealand. Donnelly in a match against England batted for 365 minutes and scored 206 runs. His knock couldn’t help his side win the match by script the draw.

Imtiaz Ahmed – Pakistan 

Not only for Pakistan, but Imtiaz Ahmed also became the first Asian batter to score the First double century in test. Ahmed achieved the feat in the year 1995 when New Zealand toured Pakistan for the Test series. He scored 209 runs and helped his side take a mammoth first-innings lead and win the match by 4 wickets.

Polly Umrigar – India 

Arguably, the legend of Indian cricket Polly Umrigar scored the First double century in test for his nation. He achieved the record in the match against New Zealand in Hyderabad in 1955. The batting great notched up 223 runs in that match but thanks to a scintillating effort by the Kiwis, the match ended in a draw.

Brendon Kuruppu – Sri Lanka 

Brendon Kuruppu was the first-ever batter from Sri Lanka to register the First double century in test for the island nation. The batter achieved the feat when New Zealand tour Sri Lank for Test series in 1987. Kuruppu smashed 201 in Colombo and helped win the match.

Mushfiqur Rahim – Bangladesh 

It took a while for Bangladesh to register their First double century in test. But it came from their premier batter Mushfiqur Rahim in 2013. The wicketkeeper batter in a match against Sri Lanka in 2013 at Galle achieve the feat, scoring 200 runs.
