Five Cricketers who found themselves in trouble because of Social media

Australia’s female cricketer Emily Smith has also found himself in the trouble due to social media. It was during the Women’s Big Bash League when the wicketkeeper batter on her official Instagram account revealed her team Hobart Hurricanes that was all set to face Sydney Thunder the next day. The female cricketer then was handed a 12-month but later it was reduced to only two months.

As per Cricket Australia’s Anti-Corruption Code, players are not allowed to reveal any inside information regarding teams or matches. CA’s integrity and security head then released a statement and stated: “Whilst Cricket Australia acknowledges that at the time of posting the team line-up there was no intent to breach the Anti-Corruption Code, CA’s rigorous anti-corruption player education program means that players are well aware of their obligations under the Anti-Corruption Code and there is no excuse for breaches regardless of the reasons for information being disclosed”.
